In Juneau!

Hello from Juneau! Team #1 arrived in Juneau yesterday afternoon. We were greeted with a nice cool crisp day (52 and overcast). The cool air felt great!

Juneau Airport

Once again, we were greeted at the airport by Wayne (thank you Wayne!) and had some time to visit with Pastor Mike at our sending church, Faith Lutheran.

Dave and Steve getting a Juneau refresher from Wayne.

Faith Lutheran

Most of our day was spent getting situated at Faith Lutheran, renting our van, and gathering supplies (food, construction supplies, etc.) around town.

Our Rental Van (rent-a-wreck)

Our rental van is defintitely an upgrade from last year. No problems getting it started and it doesn't seem to have any other interesting quirks. Let's pray that things stay that way.

Today's devotion was focused on being being an "i", rather than an "I". We need to be concious that our time and efforts should not be focused on ourselves. Rather, we are here to serve the true "I AM" and follow in his footsteps of serving.

We have a bit more shopping to do today for our refrigerated/frozen foods. We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our remaining team members and look forward to serving together!

Please pray for safe travel and that our team will arrive as planned.
